Why does the machine display "Battery Weak!"?

Description of Solution 200000003104

1. This message appears when the batteries in the machine are weak; they will soon need to be replaced. You can continue using the machine by pressing the “BS” key or any key to clear the message. This is a warning message, if you have a big project (printing many labels), you should have a set of batteries for standby.  When the message changed from “Battery Weak!” to “Check Battery!”, then you must replace ALL six “AAA” batteries in the machine.  The bottom set of the batteries the "+" POSITIVE ends should points toward the bottom edge of the machine, pointing toward from the cassette cover and the top set of the batteries the "+" POSITIVE ends should points to the top edge of the machine, pointing away from the cassette cover.

2. If you are using the wrong AC adapter “Battery Weak!” could appears on the display.

The recommend adapter for this machine is the AD24, AD24ES, or AD30.

The label on the AD24/24ES should indicate that it is Switching Adapter with the OUTPUT of 9VDC 1.6A.  The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug.  The outside surface of the tip at the end of the plug should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.

The label on the AD30 adapter, should list the OUTPUT as 7VDC 1.2A.  The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug.  The outside surface of tip at the end of the plug, should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.

Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally and void the warranty.  You can order the adapter directly from Brother Accessory Sales Department at 1-877-552-6255 or at our website at http://www.brothermall.com
