Why is my machine not printing?

If your unit is not printing properly, check the ribbon cartridge to make sure it has not ran out. If you the ribbon appears silver or gray install a new cartridge. Next make sure the black lever in the center ofthe carriage is pressed forward toward the paper. If not press forward to lock the daisywheel into place and reset unit by holding down the "CODE" key and pressing the letter "Q". Try typing. Also check the hammer head(the small round silver metal piece in the center of the carriage) for movement. If no movement the problem is within the unit.
