The machine does not turn on (no power) when using an AC adapter, how can I correct this?Description of Solution 200000003895
If the wrong power adapter is used, it can cause the machine not to power up.
1. The recommend adapter for this machine is the AD24 or the AD30.
The label on the AD24 adapter, should list the OUTPUT as regulated 9VDC 1.6A. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug. The outside surface of the tip at the endof the plug, should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.
The label on the AD30 adapter, should list the OUTPUT as 7VDC 1.2A. Thelabel should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts ofthe adapter plug. The outside surface of tip at the end of the plug, should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.
Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally and void the warranty. You can order the adapter directly from Brother Accessory Sales Department at 1-888-879-3232 or at our website at www.brothermall.com.
2. Ensure the AC adapter plug is firmly in the machine.
3. Try connecting adapter to a different electrical outlet.
