The machine does not turn on (no power) when using an AC adapter. How can I correct this?

Description of Solution 200000007406

If the wrong power adapter is used, it can cause the machine not to power up.

1. The recommend adapter for this machine is the AD24 or AD60.

The label on the AD24 adapter, should list the OUTPUT as regulated 9VDC 1.6A. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug. The outside surface of the tip at the end of the plug, should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.

The label on the AD60 adapter, should list the OUTPUT as 9.5VDC 1300mA. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug. The outside surface of tip at the end of the plug, should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.

Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally and void the warranty. You can order the AD24 adapter directly from Brother Accessory Sales Department at 1-888-879-3232 or at our website at www.brothermall.com.

2. Try connecting adapter to a different electrical outlet.

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.
