The barcode on the label contains an extra character, how can I correct this?

Description of Solution 200000007686

The extra character is the Check Character. The barcode reader uses the Check Character to check for errors when reading the barcode.  This is an option on some of the barcodes.

To turn OFF the Check Character, follow the steps below.

1. Click on the Select icon (the box with the black arrow pointing towards the top left corner).

2. Move the mouse pointer to the barcode on the layout, right click the mouse button and then select Properties or click on the Barcode icon to create a new barcode.  The Barcode Properties window should be opened.

3. In the Barcode Properties window, click on the Setup tab.

4. In the Setup tab, look for Check Digit and click on the box next to it, so that there is no check mark in the box.

5. Click OK
