The message Check Paper will appear on the display of the Brother machine if the machine is out of paper or paper is not properly loaded in the paper cassette correctly.  Please follow the instructions listed below for loading the paper and paper cassette tray.

1. Pull the paper cassette tray completely out of the machine.

2. Remove the paper from the tray.

3. Verify the paper width and length adjuster for the paper size you want are set accurately. Squeeze and slide the adjusters to the correct width and length.

4. Fan the paper well.  Load 5 to 10 pages into the machine. The tray can hold up to 250 sheets of 20lb paper.  Make sure not to overfill the tray during general use.  Press down on the paper to flatten it in all four corners, keeping the paper level below the guide (located on the right side of the tray).
