How do I print a test page from the computer?

The driver installation can be verified by attempting a test print.  Refer to one of the following sections based on your Operating System.

 

- WINDOWS USERS

- MACINTOSH USERS

 

 

 

Windows Users:

 

1. Open the Printers Folder:

 

-       Windows XP or Server 2003:

 

o   Start => (Settings) => Control Panel => Printers (and Faxes)

 

o   Start => Control Panel => Printers and Other Hardware => View Installed Printers

 

-       Windows Vista or Server 2008: Click the  => Control Panel => Hardware and Sound => Printers.

 

-       Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2: Click the  => Devices and Printers 

 

-       Windows 8, 8.1 or Server 2012

 

a.    Move your mouse to the lower left corner of the Desktop or Start screen.

 

b.    Right-click the screen and then left-click Control Panel.

 

 

c.    Under Hardware and Sound, click View devices and printers.

 

 

 

2.  Access the Printer's properties:

 

-       Windows XP, Server 2003, Windows Vista or Server 2008:  Right-click on the Brother Printer and select PROPERTIES.

 

-       Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Server 2008 R2 or Server 2012: Right-click on the Brother Printer and select PRINTER PROPERTIES.

 

 

3.  On the General tab click PRINT TEST PAGE.  A Windows test page will print if the driver is installed properly.

 

 

 

 

Macintosh Users:

 

1. In Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9 you can print a Test Page from the File Menu when the Print queue window is displayed. Click Printer => Print Test Page.

 

2. In previous Mac OS X versions you can open TextEdit, create a new document and attempt to print.
