Description of Solution 200000017670

This problem may be caused by the cover release link detached from the top cover, the DK roll installed incorrectly, or a blocked label path.

1. Verify that the cover release link on the left side of the machine isattached to the top cover.

a. Press the On/Off button to turn off the machine.

b. Open the top cover and remove the DK roll from the compartment.

c. Locate the three inch long cover release link on the left side of themachine.

d. One end of the link goes inside the machine; the other end should attach to the top cover. If not, re-attach the link to the top cover. The pin on the inside of the top cover fits into the hole at the end of the link.

2. Re-install the DK roll back into the machine. Ensure the tape of labels is NOT under the right foot of the spool (the foot has to make direct contact with the five switches located on the right side of the compartment), the tab on the right spool slide between the opening of the guide on the right side and the roll is seated firmly in the compartment.

3. Thread the end of the DK roll into the slot until you can see the endemerge from the front of the machine. If the end of the label roll can not be threaded through the slot, the label path is blocked.

a. Locate the plastic device that came with the machine. The plastic device has two straight edges and a curve edge. It is packaged with the Setup Operation Guide in a plastic bag.

b. Remove the DK roll from the compartment.

c. Position the plastic device so that the two straight edges are in front and on the right side.

d. Insert the front edge of plastic device into the slot from the DK roll compartment, pushing the device toward the front of the machine clearing the blockage and then pull the device back out.

e. Re-install the DK roll into the compartment. Ensure the tape of labels is NOT under the right foot of the spool (the foot has to make direct contact with the five switches located on the right side of the compartment), the tab on the right spool slide between the opening of the guide on the right side and the roll is seated firmly in the compartment.

f. Thread the end of the DK roll into the slot until you can see the endemerge from the front of the machine.

4. Close the top cover.

5. Turn on the machine and press the Feed button.
