Description of Problem 100000014048
Why is the machine not feeding the tape out?Description of Solution 200000018017
1. Ensure that the
cassette cover (back cover) is latched to the machine. The machine
can not feed the tape if the cover is off.
2. Check that the cassette tape is not empty; there should be no vertical
stripes on the ribbon. If there is, replace the cassette tape with a new one.
3. If the batteries
are weak or the wrong power adapter is used, it can cause the machine not to
feed the tape out.
a. If you are using
batteries, replace ALL six “AAA” batteries, NOT just two or three
batteries. The top set of the batteries the "+" POSITIVE ends should
points to the left, pointing toward the same side as the cutter lever and the
bottom set of the batteries the "+" POSITIVE ends should points to the right,
pointing away from the cutter lever.
b. If using an AC power
adapter, check the rating of the adapter. The label on the adapter should list
the model as the AD24 or AD24ES, a Switching Adapter with the OUTPUT of 9VDC
1.6A. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE
contacts of the adapter plug. The outside surface of the tip at the end of
the plug should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.
Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally and void the
warranty. The recommend adapter for this machine is the AD24 or
AD24ES. You can order the adapter directly from Brother Accessory Sales
Department at 1-877-552-6255 or at our website at http://www.brothermall.com.
4. Try another cassette
