Insert Tape Cassette! error on machine.

Description of Solution 200000018473

The machine does not recognize the tape cassette installed in the machine, please follow the steps below.

1. Turn Off the machine.

2. Open the tape compartment cover and remove the tape cassette from the machine.

3. There are sensors in the tape compartment to detect the cassette tape installed in the machine.  They are small black post about 1/8 inch high stick out from inside the machine. They all have a spring inside pushing it upward.  Visually check if any sensor stuck in the down position or physically damaged.  Next push down on each of the sensor switches; they should spring back up and they all should be the same height.  If it does not spring back up, the sensor switch is bad; the machine require service.

4. Re-install it back into the tape compartment.  Push down on top of the cassette; ensure that it is seated firmly in the tape compartment and close the cover.

5. Turn On the machine and try printing a label.

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.
