The machine does not turn on (no power) when using the BA7000 battery pack, how can I correct this?

1. Does the machine works with the AC adapter? If no, ensure the label on the adapter indicates that it is an AD18, a Switching Adapter with an Output of 12V 1.3A. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug.  The outside surface of the tip at the end of the plug should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.  Using a wrong adapter can cause the BA7000 battery pack not to charge correctly, DAMAGE the machine internally, not covered by the warranty.  If the machine does not turn on with the AD18 adapter, remove the battery pack and try power up the machine with 6 “AA” alkaline batteries (ensure that the adapter plug is disconnected from the machine).  If the machine turns on, the adapter could be bad.

 

2. If the machine works with the AD18 adapter, remove the back cover and ensure that the BA7000 battery pack wire harness in plug into the PT7600.

 

3. Is the BA7000 battery pack fully charged? The charging indicator (the lightning symbol below the display) should be OFF.  If no, let the battery pack charge for 3 hours and then test the machine.

 

4. If the machine does not turn on after charging the battery for 3 hours, the battery pack could be bad.  Try replacing the battery pack (BA7000).

 

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.

 

The machine has a two year limited exchange warranty. If the machine is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.
