During the P-touch/Label driver installation, the NEXT button grayed out, the installation process stops and can not continue. How can I correct this issue?

For Windows 2000/XP:

 

1. Windows 2000 - Click Start icon, go to Settings and select Printers.

    Windows XP – Click Start icon, Printers and Faxes.

   

2. Click on File and select Server Properties.

 

3. Click on the Drivers Tab, select (highlight) the Brother P-touch model (if existed) and click the Remove button. Close the window.

 

4. Click on Start and select Run.

 

5. On the Open line, type: services.msc and click OK. This will open the Services (Local) window.

 

6. On the right side of the window, locate Print Spooler.

 

7. Right click once on Print Spooler and select Stop.

 

* Note: If a message saying "Warning: Stopping this service will also stop other services" appears, click OK.

 

8. Close all windows.

 

9. Go to this path =>C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete any the files under this folder if they exist.

 

10. Run the driver installation again.

 

11. Once the installation is complete, restart the PC. Any Services that were stopped will automatically start again once the PC is restarted.

For Windows Vista/7/8:

1.    Click Start icon, Devices and Printers, click on any of the Printers, click Print Server Properties on the top menu.

For Windows 8, move the mouse cursor to the bottom left corner, right click and select Control Panel, Devices and Printers, click on any of the Printers, click Print Server Properties on the top menu.

 

2.    Click on the Drivers Tab, select (highlight) the Brother P-touch/QL model (if existed) and click the Remove button. Close the window.

 

3.    Click Start and under dialog box for Search Programs and Files, type in services.msc and click OK. This will open the Services (Local) window.

For Windows 8, move the mouse cursor to the bottom left corner, right click and select Search, type in services.msc and then press Enter key.

 

4.    Scroll down to locate Print Spooler.

 

5.    Right click once on Print Spooler and select Stop.

 

* Note: If a message saying "Warning: Stopping this service will also stop other services" appears, click OK.

 

6.    Close all windows.

 

7.    Go to this path =>C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete any the files under this folder if they exist.

 

8.    Run the driver installation again.

 

9.    Once the installation is complete, restart the PC. Any Services that were stopped will automatically start again once the PC is restarted.
