The machine goes off (no power) when I press the Print key, how can I correct this?

Description of Solution 200000019436

1. If you are using “AA” batteries, it is possible that the batteries are weak and need to be replaced.  Replace all six “AA” batteries, NOT just two or three.

Note: Do not use combination of rechargeable battery and alkaline battery; ensure that the power adapter plug is NOT connected to the machine.

2. If you are using the BA7000 rechargeable battery pack, does the machine works with the AC adapter (AD18)?

If yes, let the battery pack charge for 3 hours and then test the machine again.  If the problem persists, the battery pack could be bad.  Try replacing the battery pack (BA7000).

If no, go to next step.

3. If using an AC power adapter, check the rating of the adapter.  The label on the adapter should indicates that it is an AD18, a Switching Adapter with an Output of 12V 1.3A. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug.  The outside surface of the tip at the end of the plug should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE.

Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally, not covered by the warranty. You can order the AD18 adapter part # LN9710001 directly from Brother Parts Department at 1-901-379-1080 or at our website at
