I can not get P-touch Editor Lite to come up with Windows 7/8, Vista, or XP, how can I correct this?

Description of Solution 200000020436

1.    Turn OFF the P-touch/Label printer.

For PT-1230PC/PT-2430PC:

2.    Ensure the switch at the rear of the printer is set to EL (in the up position).

For QL-700:

2.    Ensure the Editor Lite is ON with a solid green light (between the Cut & Power button).

3. Close all programs running on the PC, only the PC Desktop on the display.

4. Turn ON the P-touch printer; a window should appear on desktop. Double click on the Icon with the name P-touch Editor Lite or PTLITE10; the P-touch Editor Lite will appear.

5.  For Windows 8: Click Desktop and double click on Computer

For other Windows version: Click on Start and select Computer

Note: If no window appears on desktop after turning on the printer, go to the next step.

6. Under Computer locate the icon with the name P-TOUCH (X:). The P-touch printer should appear as a storage device under Computer. The letter that follows P-TOUCH could be any letter, it depends on how many storage devises connected to the computer.

Note: If P-TOUCH (X:) is not listed under Computer, go to the step #8.

7. Click on P-TOUCH (X:), a list of files appears on the right side of the window. Your PC may have a different letter after P-TOUCH. Next, double click on PTLITE10 in the listing; the P-touch Editor Lite will appear.

8. Ensure that the Power On indicator on top of printer lights up. If not, try a new set of AAA batteries. Insert the first three batteries (bottom set) with their "+" POSITIVE ends pointing toward the bottom edge of the machine. Insert the last three batteries (top set) with their "+" POSITIVE ends pointing toward the top edge of the machine.

If using an adapter, check that the adapter is the AD24 or AD24ES. Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally and void the warranty. Try connecting the adapter to a different electrical outlet. Next, try turning on the machine with batteries.

9. Ensure the USB cable is connected to the PC and to the printer.

10. If the USB cable is connected to a USB hub, try connecting it directly to the PC.

11. Try connecting the USB cable to another USB port on the PC.

12. If possible, try testing the machine with another PC.
