Why is the machine not feeding the tape out?

1. Check that the cassette tape is not empty; there should be no vertical stripes, bars, or lines on the ribbon. If there is, replace thecassette tape with a new one.

2. If the back cover is not closed completely, the tape will not feed out. Open the back cover and close the cover again, ensure it is completely closed.

3. Try another cassette tape.

4. If the batteries are weak or the wrong power adapter is used, it cancause the machine not to feed the tape out.

a. If you are using batteries, replace all six AAA batteries with all new alkaline batteries, NOT just two or three. Insert the first three batteries (bottom set) with their + POSITIVE ends pointing toward the bottom edge of the machine. Insert the last three batteries (top set) with their + POSITIVE ends pointing toward the top edge of the machine.

b. If using an AC power adapter, check the rating of the adapter. The recommend adapter for this machine is the AD24ES or AD24. The label on the adapter should indicates that it is an AD24ES or AD24, a Switching Adapter with an Output of 9V 1.6A. The label should also indicate the + POSITIVE and the - NEGATIVE contacts of the adapter plug. The outside surface of the tip at the end of the plug should be + POSITIVE and the inside contact should be - NEGATIVE. Using a wrong adapter can DAMAGE the machine internally and void the warranty.
