Why do I get the error message No Cassette! on the display?

Description of Solution 200000023515

The machine does not recognize the tape cassette installed in the machine, please follow the steps below.

1. Turn off the machine.

2. Open the back cover and remove the tape cassette from the machine.  Check the label on cassette tape, only TZ or TZe tapes can be used with this machine; HG tapes are not compatible with this machine.

3. There are four sensors in the tape compartment to detect the cassette tape installed in the machine.  They are small black post about 1/8 inch high stick out from inside the machine. They all have a spring inside pushing it upward.  Visually check if any sensor stuck in the down position or physically damaged.  Next push down on each of the sensor switches; they should spring back up and they all should be the same height.  If it does not spring back up, the sensor switch is bad; the machine require service.

4. Re-install the cassette tape back into the machine.  Push down on top of the cassette; ensure that it is seated firmly in the tape compartment and close the cover.

5. Turn on the machine and try printing a label.

6. If the error message appears, try another tape cassette.

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.
