The machine does not turn on (no power), how can I correct this?

1. If the machine is new just out the box, please slide the top (display) cover toward the back and lift up from machine. Remove the face plate from top of the display and check if the machine turns on. There are two clear Mylar labels on the face plate (front and back), making it difficult to see if the machine is ON or OFF. If the machineturns on, remove the two clear Mylar labels from the face plate. Install it back onto the display and slide the top (display) cover backon the machine.

Note: All new face plate contains two clear Mylar labels; remove them before installing it onto the machine.

2. Remove the back cover and check the installation of the batteries. The top two batteries should be inserted with their + POSITIVE ends pointing toward the bottom edge of the machine and the bottom two batteries should be inserted with their + POSITIVE ends pointing toward the top edge of the machine.

3. If the batteries are inserted correctly, try replacing all four AAA batteries, NOT just two or three batteries.

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.

The machine has a one year limited exchange warranty. If the machine is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.
