Description of Problem 100000020152

My unit is making a constant beeping sound. How can I correct this?

Description of Solution 200000025463

The constant beep is an indication that something abnormal occurred during initialization.

  1. Unplug the typewriter and open the top cover

    1. Inspect the area around the carriage.  If there are any foreign objects; remove them.
    2. Using only your hand, move the carriage to the extreme left side of the opening.
    3.  Again, using only your hand, move the carriage to the extreme right side of the opening.
    4. The carriage should provide even resistance to being moved manually.

  1. Plug the typewriter in and turn it on.

  1. If the typewriter still makes the constant beeping, it will require service.
