The Error LED is flashing. What can I do?

When the Error LED is flashing, the Status Monitor may display "Memory Full", "Print Overrun", "Front Cover Open", "Fuser Cover Open", "Jam Tray1", "Jam Inside", or "Jam Rear".

 

 

 

1. Verify that no other LEDs are on or flashing.

 

- If no other LEDs are on or flashing, continue to the next step.

 

- If the Toner, Drum and/or Ready LED are on or flashing, refer to the appropriate solution for the specified LED combination.

 

2. Verify whether the Error LED is flashing or solid/steady.

 

- If the Error LED is flashing, continue to the next step.

 

- If the Error LED is solid/steady, refer to the solution for "The Error LED stays on. The Status Monitor states "No Paper T1" or "Manual Feed". What can I do?"

 

3. Press the GO button.

 

- If the Error LED continues to flash, continue to the next step.

 

- If the Error LED turns off and printing resumes, refer to the solution for "The Status Monitor states "Memory Full" or "Print Overrun", what should I do?"

 

4. Verify that none of the covers are open:

 

a. Open the front cover.

 

 

 

 

b. Open the back cover (face-up output tray).

 

 

 

c. Pull down the tabs at the left and right hand sides to open the fuser cover.

 

 

 

 

d. Close the fuser cover.

 

e. Close the back cover (face-up output tray).

 

f. Close the front cover.

 

5. If the Error LED continues to flash after performing the steps above, refer to the solution for "The paper is jamming. The Status Monitor displays "Jam Tray 1", "Jam Inside", or "Jam Rear". What can I do?"
