How do I uninstall the printer driver in Windows?

Complete the following steps based on the computer's operating system:

 

-      Windows XP and Server 2003 Users

-      Windows Vista and Server 2008 Users

-      Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 Users

-      Windows 8, 8.1 and Server 2012 Users

 

 

 

A.  WINDOWS XP AND SERVER 2003 USERS:

 

1.    Click Start => Programs => Brother [It will be named Brother (model name)].

 

NOTE: If Brother is not listed under Programs, go to PART D.

 

2.    Select Uninstall from the list.

 

3.    Click Yes To All for any windows that pop up during the uninstallation.

 

4.    Click OK to close the unstaller.

 

5.    Restart your computer.

 

 

B.  WINDOWS VISTA, 7, SERVER 2008 R2, AND SERVER 2008 USERS:

 

1.    Click  => All Programs => Brother [It will be named Brother (model name)].

 

NOTE: If Brother is not listed under Programs, go to PART D.

 

2.    Select Uninstall from the list.

 

3.    Click Yes To All for any windows that pop up during the uninstallation.

 

4.    Click OK to close the unstaller.

 

5.    Restart your computer.

 

 

C.  WINDOWS 8, 8.1, AND SERVER 2012 USERS:

 

1.    On the Desktop, click  Brother Utilities.

 

NOTE:  If you are on the Start screen, move your mouse to the lower left corner of the Start screen.  Right-click the screen and then left-click Desktop. 

 

NOTE: If Brother Utilities is not listed on the Desktop, go to PART D.

 

2.    Click the dropdown list to select your model if it is not already selected.

 

 

3.    Click Uninstall. If prompted, you may need to click Yes to run the program. 

 

4.    The uninstall will now continue.  You may be prompted to confirm the uninstall procedure. If so, click OK.

 

5.    Once this is complete you will see a window stating: For successful uninstallation, you must restart Windows.  Select YES, I WANT TO RESTART MY COMPUTER NOW. And click FINISH

 

 

PART D:  DOWNLOAD AND RUN THE UNINSTALLER APPLICATION:

 

1.    Click the link below to download the uninstaller application.

http://download.brother.com/welcome/dlf005362/delinf_10160.EXE

 

2.    Save the file to the desktop.

 

3.    Double-click the file on the desktop.

 

4.    Click Run if prompted.

 

5.    Click Decompress and OK.

 

6.    Open the rempnp folder that was created on the desktop.

 

7.    Double-click the file BrRemPnP.exe.

 

8.    Select the printer that you want to remove, and click OK.

 

9.    Click OK when prompted.
