How do I clear black vertical lines when I make a copy, send a fax, or scan an image into the PC?

Description of Solution 200000030037

1.  To determine if the vertical lines appearing on your printed documents are related to a printing or scanning issue, print a test page by pressing MENU, Printer, Print Options, Test Print, and COLOR START.

- If the vertical lines appear on the Test Print, refer to the solution - "How do I clear black, cyan, magenta or yellow vertical lines or streaks appearing on printed documents?"

- If the vertical lines do NOT appear on the Test Print, continue to the next step.

2.  Copy from flatbed:

a.  Lift the document cover and place the Test Print printed earlier on the flatbed glass (big glass).

b.  Press COPY and press BLACK START.

-  If the printed copy has black vertical line or printed copy comes out all black. Go to STEP 4.

-  If the printed copy is blank without any lines. Continue to next step.

3.  Copy from ADF (Automatic Document Feeder):

a.  Lift the document cover and remove the Test Print from the flatbed glass. Close the document cover.

e.  If you are only getting black line when copying/scanning or sending a fax using the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), this is caused by debris or something stuck on the ADF Glass. ADF glass is a small strip of glass in front of the flatbed glass or big glass (shown below). A tiny spec of debris stuck on the ADF glass can cause a vertical line.
