How do I clear the message "Print Unable 1A" on the display?

Description of Solution 200000032562

1.  Power off the Brother machine. The power switch is located on the lower right side. The machine should also be unplugged from the power source.

2.  Open the top cover by lifting the indented handle in the center of the cover until you hear a click.

Important: The top cover MUST be completely opened before installing or removing consumables. Failure to completely open the top may make removal or installation of the consumables difficult or impossible.  In some cases, failure to completely open the top cover may cause damage to the machine.

3.  Slowly take out all 4 drum and toner cartridge assemblies. Each drum unit and toner assembly can be removed by grasping the center of the drum and toner assembly and pulling it straight up.

Note: Place the drum and toner on a surface protected from stray toner. The drum unit should also be placed on a surface that will protect it from scratches or other damage.

4.  Clean the corona wire inside the drum by sliding the green tab from right to left and from left to right approximately 10 times.

Note: Be sure to place the green tab back in the home position. Failure to return the tab to the home position may result in vertical lines in the prints. The green tab is in home position when the arrow on the green tab and the arrow on the drum casing are aligned with each other.

5.  Clean the right side of the drum unit with a dry cloth to remove any debris. If a cloth is not available, a quality paper towel may be used (paper towels that will not leave excessive fibers on the drum).

6.  Locate the silver drum contacts on the inside of the machine. The contacts are on the right side of the machine. The contacts are spring loaded and are a little over a quarter of an inch in height. Clean them with the dry cloth. DO NOT use a damp cloth.

7.  Place the drums and toners back in the machine. Be sure to match the toner colors with the labels on the left side of the machine.

8.  Close the top cover of the machine. Plug in the power cord and turn on the power.

     -  If the error is no longer present, the issue should be considered resolved.

-  If the error is still present or if the issue appears to be intermittent (only occurs after prolonged use, etc), continue to the next step.

9.  In order to resolve the issue, the machine should be unplugged and powered off with the top cover left open for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the machine to properly adjust to room temperature and humidity.
