My machine has no power. What should I do?

Description of Solution 200000034419

1.    The Brother machine has an on/off switch located on the right side of the machine. Verify the machine is powered on.

2. Verify the power cord is connected securely in the back on the machine and into an AC power outlet.

If the power cord is connected to a surge protector or power strip, disconnect the cord from that device and connect it directly to the outlet for testing purposes.

NOTE: To protect your investment against power surges and lightning, Brother strongly recommends that you connect your machine to a surge protector. In particular we suggest that you use a surge protector that is compatible with standard AC power cords.

3. If the machine still has no power, test the electrical outlet with another device (a working lamp, radio, etc.). If that device does not work, the problem is related to the outlet or circuit.

-       You may need to check for a tripped circuit breaker.

-     If a wall switch controls the outlet verify that the switch is ON.

4. If the unit does not turn on, continue to next step.

5. Turn the printer off using power switch and unplug the power cord from the machine. Leave the machine in this condition for at least 20 minutes.

6. After 20 minutes, plug the power cord back into the machine and power the machine back on.

7. If the problem continues, and your machine is within warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area by clicking on the link below: or contact Brother Customer Service by calling 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.  If your machine is out of warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center using the information listed above.
