I am unable to print using the iPrint&Scan feature on my Apple mobile device. What can I do?

1.  Ensure the data you are trying to print can be printed using the Brother iPrint&Scan app. Refer to the solution - What type of file can I print with Brother iPrint&Scan from my Apple mobile device?  

 

2.  In order to print using the Brother iPrint&Scan app, you must ensure that the Brother machine is connected to the same wireless network as the Apple mobile device.  Refer to the solution - What connection type is required to use iPrint&Scan with my Apple mobile device?  

 

Please refer to the initial setup instructions for help connecting the Brother machine to your network.

 

3.  Ensure that the Brother machine is powered on and there are no errors on the machine.  If there is an error message, you will need to troubleshoot to clear that particular message.

 

4.  Ensure that the Brother iPrint&Scan app is installed on your device.  If it is not installed, please visit the Apple iTunes App Store to download the app.

 

 

5. Your mobile device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network that the Brother machine is connected to.  You will not be able to use this feature while connected through 3G/4G.  For assistance connecting your Apple mobile device to your network, please contact your Network Admin or Router Manufacturer for support.

 

6. Open the Brother iPrint&Scan app.

 

7. Choose a Print option.

 

 

8. If you see a message stating "Device Is Not Selected", click the link to the settings and choose your machine from the list.  Refer to the example below.

 

 

NOTE: If your machine is not listed or you receive a message stating "No Supported Devices Found", then there is no communication between your Brother machine and you Apple mobile device:

 

-  Ensure that the Brother machine is on the same network with the Apple mobile device.

 

-  Cycle the power on your mobile device and search again. You may have to wait a minute or more for the machine to appear.

-  If you are still unable to locate the Brother machine, uninstall and reinstall the Brother iPrint&Scan app from the App Store.  If you need help reinstalling the app, please contact your mobile device manufacturer for support.

 

9. Once the device has been selected you may now attempt to print using the app.  If you still cannot print, try to print a different document.  The issue may be related to the specific document that you are using.
