I am unable to print using the iPrint & Scan feature on my Android mobile device. What can I do?

1.  Ensure the data you are trying to print can be printed using the Brother iPrint&Scan app. Refer to the solution - What type of file can I print with Brother iPrint&Scan from my Android mobile device?  

 

2.  In order to print using the Brother iPrint&Scan app, you must ensure that the Brother machine is connected to the same wireless network as the Android mobile device.  Refer to the solution - What connection can I use to print from my Android mobile device?  

 

Please refer to the initial setup instructions for help connecting the Brother machine to your network.

 

3.  Ensure that the Brother machine is powered on and there are no errors on the machine.  If there is an error message, you will need to troubleshoot to clear that particular message.

 

4.  Ensure that the Brother iPrint&Scan app is installed on your device.  If it is not installed, please visit the Android Market to download the app.

 

 

5.  Your mobile device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network that the Brother machine is connected to.  You will not be able to use this feature while connected through 3G/4G.  For assistance connecting your Android mobile device to your network, please contact your Network Admin or Router Manufacturer for support.

 

6.  Reset Wi-Fi:

 

a.  Select Settings.

 

 

 

 

b.  Select Wireless & Networks.

 

 

 

c.  Turn OFF WiFi (uncheck the checkbox).

 

 

d.  Turn ON WiFi (check the checkbox).

 

 

e.  Test print using iPrint&Scan again. If still not able to print, then continue to the next step.

 

7.  Confirm the IP Address:

 

a.  Open iPrint&Scan.

 

b.  Click Setting icon.

 

 

c.  Click Printer.

 

 

d.  Check IP address of the Brother machine with which you want to connect.

 

 

NOTE: If your machine is not listed, then there is no communication between your Brother machine and you Android mobile device:

 

-  Ensure that the Brother machine is on the same network with the Android mobile device.

 

-  Cycle the power on your mobile device and search again. You may have to wait a minute or more for the machine to appear.

-  If you are still unable to locate the Brother machine, uninstall and reinstall the Brother iPrint&Scan app from the Android Market.  If you need help reinstalling the app, please contact your mobile device manufacturer for support.

 

e.  Select the Brother machine again.

 

 

f.  Attempt to print again.  If you are still unable to print, try a different document to ensure that the issue is not with this specific document.
