Why does the machine display "Cutter Error"?

Description of Solution 200000035480

Cutter Error appears when the machine senses that the cutter has been set in motion during printing or the cutter is jam.

1. Turn off the machine.

2. Open the back cover and remove the cassette tape.

3. Examine the area by the two black rollers and the tape exit area; remove any pieces of label or foreign objects that may have jammed inside the machine.

4. Reinstall the cassette tape back into the machine and close the cover.

5. Ensure the cutter lever is not jam.  Press down on the cutter lever and then release the lever.  The cutter lever should move about a 3/4-inch.  When the lever is released, it should spring back up to the initial position.

Note: The cutter lever will not move if the back cover is not fully closed.

If the cutter level jams, try removing the Cutter unit (green plastic part close to where the tape exit from machine) and reinstalling it back into the machine.  The Cutter unit should go straight down into the machine, do not twist the cutter when pushing it into the machine.

Reinstall the cassette tape, close the back cover, and check the movement of the lever again.  If the problem persists, your machine may require service.

6. Turn on the machine and try printing out a label.  Be cautious of the cutter lever; do not place your finger over it during printing.

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.
