How do I clear the message "Fuser Error" or "Self-Diagnostic"?

The message "Fuser Error" or "Self-Diagnostic" means either the fuser has reached the maximum temperature allowed or there has been an error in detection of the correct temperature during specific times of the printing process.

 

1. Before attempting to clear the error message, verify that the area surrounding the machine is clear and that there is nothing blocking the fan vent on the right-side.

 

2. Turn OFF the Brother machine's power switch (located on the right side of the machine near the back), and then turn the switch back ON.

 

 

3. If the "Fuser Error" or "Self-Diagnostic" message reappears on the LCD, leave the machine with power ON uninterrupted for 15 minutes.

 

- If the message is no longer displayed, then the issue is resolved.

 

- If the message "Fuser Error" or "Self-Diagnostic" continues to appear on the display and your machine is within warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area by clicking on the link below:
