The machine does not turn on (no power), how can I correct this?

1. If the machine is new just out the box, please remove the protective film from the

    display.  The film blocks the view, causing difficulty in distinguishing if the machine is ON

    or OFF.


Note: If the display appears to be foggy or there are bubbles, the protective film has not been removed.


2. After pressing the On/Off key, press couple of the letter keys and check if the characters  

    show on the display.


3. Open the back cover and remove all the batteries from the machine.


4. Examine the battery terminals to see if there are any abnormalities.  They should be

    bright metallic in appearance and look the same next to each other.


5. Insert the first three batteries (bottom set) with their �+� POSITIVE ends pointing toward

    the right edge of the machine (away from the cutter lever).  Next, insert the last three

    batteries (top set) with their "+" POSITIVE ends pointing toward the left edge of the


6. Close the back cover and press the On/Off button (Red button).  If the machine

    does not turn ON, replace ALL six "AAA" batteries with all new alkaline batteries, NOT

    just two or three batteries.


Note: If using rechargeable batteries, please test the machine with all new alkaline batteries.


If the problem persists, your machine may require service.     


The machine has a one year limited exchange warranty. If the machine is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.
