Why is the machine not feeding the tape out?

1. Check that the cassette tape is not empty; there should be no vertical stripes, bars, or lines on the clear ribbon.  If there is, replace the cassette tape with a new one.

2. If the back cover is not closed completely, the tape will not feed out.  Open the back cover and close the cover again, ensure it is completely closed.

 

3. Try another cassette tape.  

 

4. Replace all six “AAA” batteries with all new alkaline batteries, NOT just two or three (If using rechargeable batteries, test machine with all new alkaline batteries).

 

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.

 

The machine has a one year limited exchange warranty. If the machine is in warranty, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) for warranty options.
