All LEDs on solid
(not flashing ON/OFF) when the USB cable is connected indicates the printer is
recognized as a USB Maintenance Printer and the machine was interrupted during
the firmware installation.
the off power to the machine and disconnect the USB and/or Ethernet
down on the GO key and wiggle it in all directions. Then press down the
CANCEL key and wiggle it in all directions.

computer begins detecting new hardware labeled as USB Maintenance Printer, the
firmware has been corrupted. This occurs as a result of interrupting a firmware
update. This cannot be corrected by troubleshooting, but the situation can be
quickly resolved by an Authorized Service Center (ASC). The repair cost for this
issue will be covered by Brother.
