Description of Solution 200000039566

1. Print a Print Quality Check Sheet (PQCS):

a. Press the 4 color columns  on the touchscreen.

b. Press Test Print

c. Press Print Quality

d. Press START. A Print Quality Check Sheet will be printed.

e. Study the PQCS; there will be four color blocks (Black, Yellow, Cyan & Magenta) made up of dotted lines. Check the quality of the four color blocks on the sheet.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  The overall print quality of the PQCS may appear light or dull. This is the expected print quality. To conserve ink usage the machine is designed to use a lesser amount of ink when printing this document.

 f.     The LCD asks you if the print quality is OK, press the red X to return to the standby display.

-         If all the lines are clear and visible, as shown under "OK", continue to STEP 2.

-         If you can see missing short lines as shown under "Poor" refer to solution:"How do I clear white horizontal lines on printed documents?"

NOTE: Missing lines in the color blocks can result in light print or horizontal white lines. The troubleshooting included in solution will assist in both reported print quality issues.

2.  Light, dull print can occur when printing from the PC, copying or printing from a media or memory card. Refer to the necessary solution listed below:

-         Light print when printing from the PC refer to solution: "When I print a document from my computer, the text is dull, light or faded. What can I do?"

-         Light print when making copies refer to solution:  "How can I improve my Brother machine's copy quality?"

-         Light print when printing from a media or memory card refer to solution: "How can I improve the quality of the images I print from my Brother machine's Photo Capture Center?"
