How do I install the PTouch Label driver on Macintosh Operating System?

For instructions on how to download the Brother P-touch/Label Printer Driver, refer to the solution: How do I navigate the Brother website to download software, drivers, and utilities?

After downloading the P-touch/Label driver to the MAC's Desktop or Downloads icon, double click on the downloaded file to proceed with the driver's installation and then follow the default/prompt steps until the driver installation is completed. Please perform the remaining steps to verify whether the driver has been installed successfully. 

1. Plug in the USB cable to between the PTouch Label and MAC machine, and then turn the Power ON the PTouch Label machine. For PT-P700 model, make sure the PLite is OFF (No green light).

2. In the Desktop area, click Go menu, Applications, System Preferences, and Print & Scan.

3. The Brother PTouch Label machine should be listed in the Print & Scan window.

Note: If you are having a problem seeing your Brother PTouch Label printer after installing the driver or getting an error message (This application is incompatible with the AirPrint printer driver) after launching the PTouch Editor application.

Please perform the following steps to manually add or change the PTouch Label printer driver to CUPS printer driver.

1.    Under Print & Scan window, click on + and under Default tab, scroll down to the bottom to find your P-touch/Label model

2.    Click on your Brother PTouch Label model, click drop down arrow under the Use: field, select your Brother PTouch Label CUPS, and then click Add button.




3.    If you are experiencing a same error message when open up the PTouch Editor application, please set the Brother PTouch Label printer as a default printer as an example below:
