How do I clear the message "Jam 2-sided"?

Description of Solution 200000040716

1.  Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine.

2.  Look inside where you removed the paper tray from for any jammed paper or scrap piece of paper. Look towards the back of the machine especially towards the right side. If needed use a flash light to locate stuck piece of paper or scrap piece of paper.

3. If found, slowly remove the jammed paper or scrap piece of paper.

4.  Turn the paper tray upside down and check for paper underneath the paper tray.

5.  If the paper is not caught in the paper tray area, open the back cover.

NOTE:  After you have just used the machine, some internal parts of the machine will be extremely hot. Wait for the machine to cool down before you touch the internal parts of the machine.

6.  Open the back cover.

7.  If you see paper stuck in the exit area, using both hands slowly pull the paper down and out of the machine.

8.  Close the back cover.

9. Lift the top cover using the indented handle in the center until you hear a click.

Note: Failure to completely open the top cover when removing and installing consumables may cause severe damage to the machine. The top cover is completely open when the cover locks in place and does not require support from the user.

10. Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Each drum unit and toner assembly can be removed by grasping the center of the drum and toner assembly and pulling it straight up. Place the drum unit and toner cartridges assemblies on a piece of disposable paper or cloth to avoid spilling and scattering the toner. Repeat this step for all 4 drum unit and toner cartridge assemblies.

11.  Hold the green handle of the belt unit and lift the belt unit up, then pull it out.

12. Once the belt unit is removed from the machine, the waste toner box should be visible. The waste toner box is black with a foam roller and green handle on it. The waste toner box may be secured by an orange packing clip. Twist the clip and remove from the machine (this clip may be discarded).

13. Hold the green handle of the waste toner box and remove the waste toner box from the machine.

14. Once the waste toner box is removed, you will notice a small cut out or opening where you can see the top of the table or floor the machine is placed on. You will also see the duplex assembly. Locate any jammed paper in that area especially towards the right side. If found, carefully pull out the jammed piece of paper or scrap of paper. If no stuck paper or scrap piece of paper is found continue to next step.

15. Place the waste toner box in the machine. The waste toner box does not "snap" in place. Simply place the box in the machine.

16. Put the belt unit back in the machine.

17. Reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge assemblies into the machine by sliding them into the correct slot by matching the toner cartridge color to the same color label on the machine.

18. Close the top cover of the machine. You will hear a loud click when the top cover is closed firmly.

19.  Check for how the paper is loaded in the paper tray; make sure that the paper is below the maximum paper mark. While pressing the paper guide release lever, slide the paper guides to fit the paper size. Make sure the guides are firmly in the slots.

20.  Reinstall the paper tray back in the machine.

21.  If the jammed paper is completely removed, the machine will resume printing automatically. If the printer does not start printing automatically, press the BLACK START or COLOR START key on the touchscreen.

22. If the printer still does not start printing send the print job again to print the document.

If the "Jam 2-sided" message returns, clear the jam by repeating STEP 1 - 20 and then go to STEP 23.

-  If the display reads "Jam Tray", refer to the solution - "How do I clear the message "Jam Tray"?"

-  If the display reads "Jam Inside", refer to the solution - "How do I clear the message "Jam Inside"?"

-  If the display reads "Jam Rear", refer to the solution - "How do I clear the message "Jam Rear"?"

23.  Make sure the paper or media type you are printing on is within specification. Below is the media type supported by the machine.

NOTE: When printing in duplex machine can only print paper that is between 20 - 28 lb. If the media being used is over 28lb it will cause paper jams.
