How do I configure or setup the DSmobileCapture software?

To begin, all configuration options are managed from the applications main tool bar.

The Setup icon will open the main configuration pages. 

The File Format dropdown allows you to select what format the images will be saved as.

The File Location bar will allow you to save the images to a location of your choosing. 

Click on the File Folder to browse to a location or type it directly into the File Location bar.

The  icon will make the scanned document fit to the page area.

The  icon will display the scanned document in its original size.

If you press the Setup Icon , the following screen appears.

The configuration screen consists of 6 tabs.  Each will be briefly described below.

For more detailed information please see the product documentation.

 

The first is the Image tab.

The Image tab allows you to configure scanning in Color – Black and White – or Grey Scale

You may also adjust the Brightness, Contrast and Resolution as needed.

You may also set the scan to invert if you are trying to capture the image with a black background instead of the default white.

Custom scan profiles can also be configured from this tab.  For more information please consult the user guide for your product.

You may also restore the settings on this tab to default factory settings by clicking on the Defaults button in the lower right corner.

To leave the configuration press OK to save changes or Cancel if you do not wish to save.

 

The second is the Paper tab.

The Paper tab allows for configuration of cropping and size adjustments.

You may also set the next page timeout setting to increase or reduce the wait between pages scanned.

You may also restore the settings on this tab to default factory settings by clicking on the Defaults button in the lower right corner.

To leave the configuration press OK to save changes or Cancel if you do not wish to save.

 

The third is the Preview tab.

The Preview tab allows for scanning preview.

You may also restore the settings on this tab to default factory settings by clicking on the Defaults button in the lower right corner.

To leave the configuration press OK to save changes or Cancel if you do not wish to save.

 

The fourth tab is Options tab.

The Options tab allows you to configure the rotation of the document after it has been scanned.

You may also restore the settings on this tab to default factory settings by clicking on the Defaults button in the lower right corner.

To leave the configuration press OK to save changes or Cancel if you do not wish to save.

 

You may also select the rotation of the document in standard default increments.

Calibration of the scanner is available on this tab as well.

Please see How do I calibrate my scanner for more information.

 

The fifth tab is the Imprinter tab.

The Imprinter tab allows you to add text over the scanned image.

To activate the feature click the check box Digital Imprinter, this will activate the options for this feature.

You may also restore the settings on this tab to default factory settings by clicking on the Defaults button in the lower right corner.

To leave the configuration press OK to save changes or Cancel if you do not wish to save.

 

The Information tab allows you to see installed software and driver versions.

The Report button will export the settings of the last scanned image to a text file.

You may also restore the settings on this tab to default factory settings by clicking on the Defaults button in the lower right corner.
