Occasionally, specks of dust or dirt become attached to the print head.  A dirty Print Head can cause print quality issues, follows the steps below on cleaning the Print Head.

 

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from printer.

 

2. Open the top cover by lifting up the two levers located on the left and on the right side of the machine.

 

3. Remove the label roll from printer.

 

4. Locate the Print Head; it is a white ceramic piece about 4-1/2 inches long located just in front of the one-inch long black plastic guide (sensor).

 

 

5. Clean the print head using a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, gently wipe the dark brown strip along the print head. 

 

6. Re-install the label roll and close the cover.

 

7. Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer, print out a label and check the print quality.

 

If the problem persists, your machine may require service.  

 

The machine has a one year limited depot warranty. If the machine requires service, call Brother Mobile Solutions Customer Service at 1-800-255-0415 Monday through Friday, excluding holidays for a Return Authorization number.
