Why does the message REPLACE PARTS DRUM UNIT continue to appear after a installed a new drum?

If the machine continues to display REPLACE PARTS DRUM UNIT after installing a new drum, the drum may not have reset properly.  Whenever you replace the drum unit, the drum counter needs to be reset.  Do the following:

 

1.    Press STOP/EXIT to temporarily interrupt the message.

 

2.    Press MENU.

 

3.    Press the UP or DOWN ARROWS until Machine Info is displayed on the LCD.

 

4.    On the LCD, press MACHINE INFO.

 

5.    Press RESET MENU.

 

6.    Press DRUM.  The LCD will display “Reset Drum?”

 

7.    Press YES.

 

8.    Press STOP/EXIT.

 

9.    Verify REPLACE PARTS DRUM UNIT no longer appears on the LCD.

 

-      If the message continues to appear, repeat STEPS 1 – 9.

 

-      If the message continues to appear after repeating the reset steps, contact Brother Customer Service by calling 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
