1.    Ensure that you are logged on to your computer with Administrator rights.

2.    Verify the Brother machine is powered on.

3.    Download the CUPS Printer Driver. For instructions on how to navigate the Brother website to download the software, please click here.

NOTE:  The Brother CD-ROM included with the printer does not include the software. It only contains a link to the software on the website.

4.    Browse to the location of the downloaded software and double-click on the downloaded file "xxxxxxxx.dmg".

NOTE: The downloaded file is typically saved in the Downloads folder, which may be located in the Dock.  This location may vary based on your browser's settings.

If you don't find the Downloads folder in the Dock, click Finder in the Dock. Click Go on the Finder bar at the top of the screen and then click (Home) => Downloads.

5.    Double click the installer package icon "xxxxxxxx.pkg".

6.    Click Continue on the welcome window.

7.    If Environmental Advice is displayed, please read the information and click Next.

8.    After reading and accepting the License Agreement, click Continue if you agree to the terms.

9.    Click Agree to accept the License Agreement.

10. Click Install to continue with the installation.

11. You may be prompted to enter your password. Enter your Macintosh password and click Install Software.

NOTE: If you do not know your system password, please contact Apple or your network administrator for assistance.
