    Finally Bought a Serger
I reviewed lots of sergers -- very inexpensive ones to very expensive ones. I settled on the Brother 3034D because if I didn't like it or got bored with it, I wouldn't be upset over wasted money because it wasn't expensive. I wasn't upset and I didn't waste money. This is a good starter serger and once you get the hang of it, you will be surprised how fast it is and how capable. Now I have both my sewing machine and serger out on the table ready to go.

    Brother 3034D serger
This is my first serger. I was a bit nervous about using a serger because I had heard that they were touchy and difficult to thread. This serger is easy to thread with the color coded diagram in the machine. The quality of the stitch is good and stitches can be adjusted. There is also an open arm for ease of sewing sleeves. I am using the machine mostly for clothing construction.

    Great Purchase
I was very pleased with my purchase of this machine. The instructional CD was easy to follow and made using this type of sewing machine easy and less scary. I had never used a serger before, and was pleasantly surprised that I could thread the machine and change a needle with little effort. I am extremely happy that I purchased this serger.

    More bang for the buck
I haven't had the time to learn everything this machine is capable of. But the time I have been able to spend with it has been a joy. A very versatile machine that appears to have endless possibilities. Smooth running and virtually silent operation. Easy too thread and the needles are easy to get to to change. Love my purchase.

    Love it
Works great. Nice video showing how to thread. Stitches look very professional. Quieter than my old unit. Table is very helpful. Looper pops out for easy threading. Lots of storage. I would certainly recommend this serger

    Love it
I have only had my serger a few months, but I have had to tackle the hard stuff!! By that I mean thread it. And I was successful the first time!! I did keep the book right next to the serger while I was doing it. It seems to be easy enough to get the tensions correct. With the holidays being here, and being so busy I have not had enough time to try and experiment with it. But now that those are past, and it stops raining I can run over to JoAnns and get some fabric to practice with and see how ... read more the different stitches are accomplished.

    DZ1234 - A real workhorse
This machine is a great investment. I have used it on many different types of fabrics, from silk to faux leather and it has handled it all.

    Great Purchase
Love this serger. It is easy to thread once you have done it a couple of times. I now can thread it very quickly. It's a little tricky to change needles because one screw controls both needles, but I have done it. It sews quite nicely. Seams look great!!!

    love this cover stitch
Super simple to use & makes sewing with knits easy. Only "con" I can think of is this machine is sold with the wrong needles, you immediately need to switch the needles to stretch needles to prevent any skipping

    Easy To Use
I have my cover stitch machine sitting back to back with my serger and switch threads from the serger to the cover stitch machine when needed. The serger acts as my thread stand. An easy way to release the looper thread at the end of the stitching, is to open the front of the cover stitch machine and release the looper. Pull the looper thread up and through the needle plate, reset the looper, close the door and cut the top threads and then the looper thread after pulling the top threads to the ... read more back of the fabric. No knotting or seam sealer needed to lock the thread ends. Practice makes perfect.
