What is a POSTNET barcode?
A POSTNET barcode is used to encode zip code information on letters or other mail for
rapid and reliable sorting by barcode sorters (BCSs). This barcode was developed by the Postal Service. POSTNET
stands for (POSTal Numeric Encoding Technique).
POSTNET bar code on U.S. mail improves the speed, accuracy and delivery of mail. Some U.S.
Post Offices also offer a discount for sending bulk mail that contains the POSTNET barcode.
All Brother Label Printers allow you to add and print a POSTNET barcode into your label. This
is done by using the Label Creation Software.
The way you insert the POSTNET barcode into your label varies by model. Please click on
your model for instructions on how to do it.
