I have had the older models of the Brother label makes. They work well. This unit works just like the old one but it has a few more advantages. First it comes with a light vision of the software embedded in the ram of the label maker. You do not need to load the software in your computer. This is good if you take the unit on the road with you and need to use it on someone else’s computer. It also can be powered be battery. This also helps is you are on the road with this unit.
Now for the bad:
It seems to print slower then units of the past and the print cartridges are somewhat expensive. We have a high quality product we use the labels on so the price doesn’t make a difference but if you are using this around the house you may consider a model that the print media is cheaper.

I have not explored all of its capabilities. but this label maker is easy to use and does a great job. It does have an annoying habit of wasting about 1/2 inch of tape each time I make a label, but I may be able to fix that when I take the time to study the manual.
