I have owned 3 brother products to date including the new 7860DW. I wore out the other 2. These are a great value for the money. I LOVE the dual sided printing it saves me loads of time. I did buy the machine when I saw it on sale to save money.

This printer is not what I was expecting. Every time I try to print on a larger size paper, I get a paper jam notice - when there is no paper jam, but I have to remove and replace the drum before it will print for me.
Also, I cannot print envelopes because I would have to open the back of the printer and that disconnects it from my computer - therefore I cannot print envelopes which was one of my objectives when I bought the printer.

While I really like this printer, the scanning has been a major pain. Sometimes it scans just fine while at other times it goes through the motions like it is scanning but nothing either pops up or is saved to my computer. So I de-install and then reinstall and it works for awhile then have to go through the same drill again. Why can't it just work???

In the past I have bought ink jet printers. I have 5 of those, 2 Lexmark's and 3 HP's. I had to replace ink cartridges often but with this printer I have not had to buy any ink toner as of yet and I print often with the type of work that I do. I bought this printer before Christmas 2012 and it is still printing very good. All features work very good. I am so glad that I bought this printer.It is not noisy and goes to sleep rather quickly and awakes quickly also. No misfeeding.
