worst machines ever

Our company has 2 mfc-8710dw and they are the worst fax machines we have ever purchased. The print on one is terrible & the other one crinkles like every other copy .

MFC-8710 not working and Brother Help not helpful

A few months after I purchased this printer, it started to develop a black line on the side of the every page. Since it is still under warranty, I called the brother help line. The help line could not fix the problem on the phone and said it would send me further instruction to me for me to fix the problem. The instruction never came and the printer is never fixed. The experience with the help line was extremely frustrating and not helpful at all.

I returned it but...

I was looking for a fast printer and primarily a fast scanner with PDF compression for filing and emailing. I was told this unit had everything needed and would accomplish this automatically upon scanning. Printing quality was good, extra software to buy and steps needed to accomplish my compression priority, and it was loud. I also thought it was odd and not able to set for the home screen to return after use. Showing the clock and date. Not a big factor just odd.

Terrible experience

I have had nothing but problems since I bought this machine. I bought it brand new from staples when I set up my private practice. It did not work when I got it out of the box. It was still under warranty so I was instructed to send it back to brother. Everyone I talked to at brother was rude and not one person explained the steps of what I needed to do because the instructions were to be both emailed and with the new machine. There was no instruction sheet with the new machine (and no email) so I just packed up my broken machine and retuned it. When I opened the new one, the drum was missing. I contacted brother again and they told me they were not responsible for my "mistake" and I'd have to buy a new drum. I spoke with the supervisor (after talking with two very rude representatives) and explained that no one ever told me not to return the drum and he said he'd review the tape of the conversation and get back to me. That was 4 weeks ago. I now can't return the machine to staples, so I had to buy a $160 drum because I need the machine. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy another brother product.
