The MFC-8710DW printer is very fast. It does a great job printing and the fax, scan and copy features are fast and easy to work with. I save a lot of paper with the duplex printing feature. I use a wireless network and the set up for this machine was very easy. I would recommend this printer to anyone who needs a fast and versatile machine.

Great Black & White All-in-One
November 26, 2012
By Hardworker from Memphis, TN
The appeal was printing from my phone wirelessly. I do not have time to run to my computer to print things that I need. I love it & would advise anyone to buy it for the price! Make sure you get the high yield toner!

Nice Workhorse, But Not Perfect!
November 25, 2012
By lomomagix from Las Vegas
First, it's really fast! As for economy, I still have to observe toner usage.

But, it's really noisy! Also, the scan-to-PC needs to be tweaked by Brother a little. It's a network printer so it's reasonable to expect that several computers will be using it, and the scan-to-PC only works for the last computer to install it (and without warning to the previously installed printer that it will be kicked out of the scan-to-PC functionality).

Next, the accessory 2nd tray is TOO EXPENSIVE! It would be nice to have that because the built-in tray can only accommodate about 250 sheets. The main reason I bought this is because Office Max advertised it in their stores as being capable of taking 500 sheets, but then I found out after installing it that this requires the use of the optional accessory tray. Well, I guess that one is not Brother's fault. Also, it's very difficult to find a 500-sheet machine at this price.

Otherwise, the machine is fine for a workhorse in a small office.
