Overall I'm very happy with this printer. It prints high quality color, black and white, has a good scanner. The only down side is the software, which doesn't run well on Windows 7. The always-on software monitor caused my computer to lock up until I disabled it. And the Brother scanner software ceased to function one day, not even Brother tech support could get it to run. So they told me to use the PaperPort software with the scanner, which works just as well.

Everything works perfectly on the Mac system with this printer; duplexing; MS Office; as well as Apple version of Office.

Expensive but worth it! I was so tired of fighting ink cartridges on my inkjet. I wanted to be a responsible citizen by using 'refilled' cartridges, but companies have made that very difficult by putting chips in their cartridges to recognize 'non-original' ones. In my case, on two printers I had to use 'new and brand specific' inks or they made the printer not work properly. I bought the Brother MFC-9560W laser printer to be able to print longer without refills. The color quality is not quite as good as my inkjet, but the tradeoff is worth it because all else about it is wonderful! I have not used the faxing option because my phone is through my cable company and will not permit faxing.

The 4-in-1 works fabulously. Scans very quickly, even both sides at the same time. The color print is crisp and bright. Fax to file image saves paper.
The only things I would improve:
1) less paper curl (even using the maximum "less paper curl" option is not enough).
2) Larger input tray--if you copy, fax or scan more than 24 sheets, some sheets tend to get pulled through together.
