Really like this printer
August 25, 2014
By BarbM from Missouri
Bought this for use at my summer home based on my experience with a "new" Brother printer at my main residence. I'm very impressed with their products. Most actions are quite intuitive. The ink cartridge life is excellent compared to my previous brands of printers. I do not need and have not used the FAX function, but all the other options work quite easily and well.

The only reason I didn't give a five star rating for the printer is due to the pull-out "paper catcher." It seems quite flimsy, and with both printers, here and at home, I'm afraid I'm going to forget to push it back in, turn my chair and Knock into and break it.
Overall - great pirnter!

Nice printer for the price

Let's start by saying this printer replaced a Brother MFC-240C which gave me years of trouble-free printing. I never liked the cartridge paper tray but grew to accept it. I actually bought a second tray to hold envelopes. The MFC-J470DW works about the same but gives you wireless if needed. Things I don't like about it: noisy when printing, the power button is a joke. Too spongy and turning this machine off takes time and patience. It won't print the last 4 X 6 photo and causes a paper jam every time. You have to have more than one sheet of photo paper loaded for it to work. My 240C had the same problem. Even with these issues I think I would buy it again because of the low price (on sale).

like all the features especially the scan, as I do a lot of these. That it is wfi means my daughter can use it from her printer.
Makes nice copies
