I do not use all the features. Had no problems with drivers. Always on, and I do not know if it is running until I send it something to print. Very quiet. I love the control center and the scan function. I have another Brother laser printer, and it works just as well. I use to own another 3 in 1 printer of another company and it was a real problem with all kinds of software issues. So, as far as I am concerned, in the light of my use, Brother rates 5 stars.

For the starter cartridge which came with the printer that I bought new from Amazon (an authorized reseller) in early May, 2012, both Brother and Amazon claim 700 pages. I got 291 pages after exhausting all alternatives in the manual as well as those from Brother Support. I print emails and similar documents which use little ink. My counts are based on a hard copy log and the counter within the printer. Brother Support was of no real help. Otherwise the printer is problem free. I tried and uninstalled the included Nuance software which uses more CPU and RAM than it is worth.

Easy to use, paper saver because of duplex printing, good copies, and speed is good. Never jammed.
