Tough decision pays off.

I struggled for months to rid myself of an HP LaserJet I'd been using for the past 20+ years. As it slowly started to fade in the past year, I knew that nothing HP was offering, in my present affordable price range, that could compare the past 20+ years of excellence. Considering that I paid about $700 all those years ago. Needless to say, I got my money's worth. And then, something incredible happened; the Brothers HL-2270DW popped on my screen courtesy of a Retrevo.com Newsletter. For less than an eighth of the LaserJet price. I bought it. And while we may live together happily ever after, if I get 3 years, I'll be very happy. Cheers, RJ

Excellent Printer!

I have had this printer for two months now and I am completely satisfied with this product.
It is fast at printing, the duplex feature is great, and overall performance of all its features is beyond expectations.
This is an excellent product at a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend it for home or office!

Brother HL-2270DW Laser Printer

Purchased the Brother HL-2270DW with prepackaged DN-420 and TN-420/TN-450.

It seems that the TN-420/TN-450 ink level was very low to start with, and the DN-420 holder got stuck in the printer, so removal was not possible. And the way the HL-2270DW laser printer is designed, there is not a secondary way to access the toner cartridge for removal; so the only solution now is to take the entire HL-2270DW laser printer back to where it was purchased, and get a new one with new toner cartridge.

What this means is that Brother's Quality Assurance program missed out on this particular printer model, which has proved to be defective. Since there appears to be a problem here, it is very difficult to recommend this particular product to others.

Stay away

I purchased this printer in January 2014. After four months it stopped printing wirelessly. First I contacted my computer company (Dell) tech support. After two hours of checking possible problem in the computer she found none and since the printer did work with USB cable, she suggested to contact Brother. Brother's tech support conducted the same procedures Dell's agent did, and decided that the problem was with the computer settings, so she referred me back to Dell. Dell's second tech support examined the settings, connection, wireless card of the computer and router and they all worked fine, so she suggested to change the printer's wireless card. I called Brother again (each call is at least 30 minutes waiting for an agent), and when eventually the agent responded, she started going over the same procedures again. I asked to replace the printer but she insisted on going over these two hour procedures again. At that point I asked to talk to a supervisor. There was no supervisor available, so the agent assured me that they would call me, which, unsurprisingly, never happened. So I called Brother again, and after 30 minutes waiting, I was connected to an agent. He asked for my problem, and while I was telling him the problem, he hang up on me. Poor machine, useless tech support, rude agents.
