Love this printer. I work in the accounting department and use a separate printer not on the network. My old printer was dying a slow death. I started looking and found that some small printers had duplexing capabilities. Did some research and decided to purchase the HL-5450DN. Best decision ever made. Print quality is great. I have no complaints. I would recommend this to anyone. I'm actually thinking of buying one for home.

The 5450 replaced another Brother printer that lasted for over 6 years of heavy office use. The 5450DN is a bit faster than the old one but seems to be just as durable and printing costs are low, so far it seems to be a great printer.

I bought this laser because of its price and features. I was replacing another brand that became unreliable. The front panel is very well laided out and intuitive. The speed is more than I will ever need (faster than my other one). The AirPrint feature is nice especially since there is no wireless on this printer - it just seems that way - nicely done!
The only down side, and not unigue to this brand, is the cost of consummables. The toner cartridge will cost as much as the printer price - not unusual, I know.
All in all, I would recommend this printer. It has proven VERY reliable to date.

I replaced my 5250DN with this model when the time came to replace the drum. The price of this new printer was only $7 more than the price of the drum. I think it is deliberately priced that way to get you to buy a new printer. This printer is fast and the quality is good. On the negative side it is a little noisier than the 5250DN and for some reason, when it goes to sleep, new print jobs never wake it up. So when I print something and the printer is asleep, I have to toggle the on-off switch. This is the case with 2 computers that have used both Windows 7 and Windows 8; so I think this is a driver issue with the printer and not a Windows issue.
