This is the basic and most important settings for colors. Start Illustrator and select [ Edit ] > [ Color Settings... ] menu. Change the settings as below:
Illustrator CS | |
See the Color Management Policies menu (in the middle) and confirm that Working RGB = sRGB is used. Better to check "Ask When Opening" checkbox so that you can see when the embedded profile does not match.
Color Swatches | |

Get Photoshop Color Swatch GT_Colors_T.ai from Useful Tools. |
2. |
Select [ Window ] and check [ Swatches ] to show. Click the little triangle at the right top of the window (in the orange circle below) to show the submenu. Select [ Open Swatch Library ] and [ Other Library ... ] at the bottom. |
Illustrator CS | |
3. | Select "GT_Colors_T.ai". The swatch replaced. Use them with the Color Chart "GT_ColorChart.arp". |
Illustrator CS | |
Replace Colors First, change the color mode from CMYK to RGB. Then refill the RGB=255 white objects with RGB=254 if you need to print white. Select other colors like Blacks and Yellows, it is better to refill with e.g. RGB=0 black and R=G=255 yellow (B=0 is the most vivid yellow, B=254 is the thinnest yellow) to make the print image clear and vivid. A good way to select all the objects with the same appearance (color/line): Select the Magic Wand and click one of the target objects. Then all the objects with the same appearance (color/line) can be selected at one time. Then change the color to what you want. Be sure to confirm the print data with GT-3 File Viewer by zooming and changing the background color to save your time and money.
