    Exceeds expectations
This is a versatile and efficient cutter, able to cut a wide range of materials. It will repay a little patience and experimentation with blade depth and cutting pressure to obtain best results. It is pity that wifi connectivity is not enabled without further payment.

Great addition to a sewing/quilting studio
Even though I have two other cutting systems, the Scan-N-Cut has been a great addition to my sewing/quilting studio. I was surprised at how easy it is to scan my personal designs into the scanner to obtain professional and precision cuts on fabric for appliquéing. In no time, I had scanned the pattern pieces from Margie Ullery-Payson's "Spring Skinnie" quilt featured in Quilltmaker March 2013 magazine to create my version of this fun quilt. Thanks "Brother...at your side" for an awesome product!

    Good purchase
This was one of the best purchases I have every made. This is just what was needed at the school my granddaughter attends to save time on cutting out paper items for the display board and for the students to use.

    great purchase
However I'm still learning how to cut. I purchased it mostly to cut fabric shapes that I can scan. I've tried to get the scan n cut canvas people to recognize me but they don't like any email or password I've given them and they will not contact me. I'm a retail fabric store and would like to sell these when I get successful at cutting fabric.

Great product... A lot of learning
I love my scanncut, when I got it I tried it out then put it back in the box for a year. I recently discovered a great software that takes the mystery out of using this with all the various materials. It now sits in my studio table and gets used regularly, but there is a learning curve.

    Scan N Cut
Last mother's day my husband purchased a Chicago 7 by Bernia, it is a sewing and embroidery machine. This year for mother's day, he bought me a Scan N Cut CM550DX. I love it. Although new to quilting and sewing, I am not worried about "perfect" cuts, I let the scan and cut do most of the work for me. Love it.

A gift that keeps on Giving
I am still learning all that I can do but what I have done with it Stencils, Vinyl designs, applique designs to embroidery designs it has been amazing. No throwing of scraps, the precise scanning and placement abilities allows you to use every inch. It has taken my creativity to the next level.

    Great cutter; Good Scanner
One must be very careful in scanning that things are black and white....no dark or light grey figures, not even near-black or near-white. Otherwise the sensitive scanner has the machine try to cut out dots and lines. Except for that, the machine is wonderful, especially for folks with arthritis who can no longer use scissors, or those who are klutzy whose matte knives produce ragged cut outs.

    New Best Friend
I previously owned another cut machine and sold it to buy the Brother ScanNCut 650W. I am amazed at all I can do with it even though I am still in the learning stage. I love it and would recommend it to anyone considering a cutting machine. I can't wait to get the software that can be used with it on the computer.

I love my Scan N Cut
I absolutely love my Brother Scan N Cut 650. So far, I've used it to cut fabric for appliqué and to make a quilt block. A friend showed me how to use freezer paper to sandwich the fabric, which cuts without little pieces getting caught in the rollers. Oh, and there are some great YouTube videos for ideas and techniques.
